This is an exciting and
auspicious time to be alive. All around the world there is an awakening
happening. People are waking up, realizing that there is far more to life than
the mighty dollar. One of the most exciting things is that we now know about
mass consciousness and that every person who becomes aware of their true
spiritual selves makes it that much easier for the rest of the world to awaken
as well.
Bookshops are filled with
wonderful books, giving us the information we need for the shake up we desire.
We now know that we need to love ourselves more, that we need to be more
compassionate and forgiving. The problem is that an intellectual understanding
of things is not enough. In fact, sometimes it can be counterproductive, as we
know what we "should" do but have trouble living up to our own high
standards. There is a great leap from the intellectualizing of these concepts
to actually being able to live them. Guilt kicks in because we know that we are
not walking our talk and accuse ourselves of being hypocritical.
The good news is that your
chakras are a way out of this problem. As you will learn, a little later, each
chakra has a psychological component through which you will natural develop
such things as unconditional love. By working with your chakras you can let go
of your anger, grief and guilt.
Chakras are like keys to
the real you. As you work with them you will find that your health, well-being
and personal development all improve.
Even after working with
chakras for over eight years, I am still excited by the whole chakra concept.
For me it is a way of explaining the connection of body and mind. It explains
how emotions can and do affect us physically, and how psychological aspects of
our personality make us susceptible to certain illnesses.
Over the last 20 years or
so, many people have been teaching the interaction of the body and the mind.
Work by people, such as Louise Hay, have shown us that the way we think does
affect our physical body. The chakra system helps us to understand how this
works. If a person can let go of an emotional problem, a disease may ease or
disappear.
Chakras make possible the
evolution from our basic animal nature into the spiritual beings that we are all
capable of becoming. I see this as our greatest journey in personal
development.
The journey through the
chakras is one of great fulfillment, which allows us to let go of our fears and
realize our dreams.
Unfortunately chakras
cannot be seen or felt with our normal senses. Only people who have developed
their clairvoyance can see and sometimes feel chakras.
Many western doctors would
deny chakras exist. Most have not even heard of them. However, research is
being conducted, and with subtle-energy technology such as Kirlian photography,
scientific evidence is beginning to support the existence of chakras.
